Wish I'd bought it sooner Top quality, great functionality. Months of research led me to buy this food processor as opposed to a cheaper model, it's worth it! June 13, 2012
My Little Piece of Kitchen Heaven This was a gift on our wedding list that we had delivered early and I'm so glad I did. I made 120 carrot cup cakes for our wedding reception in one evening (the night before, obviously). If it wasn't for the 3 lovely non spill bowls that nestle inside of each other allowing me to do icing in the small one, grating carrots in the other and making the mixture in the large bowl I would have been up until the very small hours of the next day (the biggest failing turned out to be the limited capacity of my oven). It is a really easy to clean, and the handy storage box means I don't loose any of the stainless steel edged blades. Thank you Cuisinart, you saved my wedding day! July 28, 2011

I do a lot of baking. Especially cakes, meringues etc. Will this satisfy all my needs or should I go with something else?

Hi bettyboop1982

Thank you for your query - I guess this really raises the whole food processor / food mixer debate! So it really depends on what how often you bake, and the results you desire:

Food Mixers (e.g. KitchenAid or Kenwood mixers) are fantastic for bread and cakes, as the bowl is open, therefore allowing much more air to be incorporated into the mixture. This results in bread and cakes to rise much better, with a fluffy texture. As food processors do not have open bowls, they do not capture as much air, which may not result in your mixture being as good as when combined with a Mixer.

So if making top quality bread and cakes is important to you, then I would go for a Mixer. You can do just about everything with a Mixer! A flat beater attachment mixes your batter perfectly, whisks whip up egg and dough hooks knead dough perfectly. But they are a little pricey, and quite large in size. As mentioned, our KitchenAid models are fantastic, as are our Kenwood Mixers.

However, if not, then a food processor may be the way to go, as this is a good compromise between a blender and a mixer. The various discs and attachments make food processors the next best choice in kneading dough and combining batter. Our Magimix models are fantastic.

The choice is yours!

Many thanks,
Tanya

What exactly is the dough blade ? I don't have a plastic blade in the pack, and the labels on the parts diagram are not correct, I feel sure. Can you clarify?
