Which home fragrance?

Candles (Pillar, Jar, Tin, Votives)

Candles are an ideal way to create a calming ambience in a short period of time . Every candle has a different burning time, but votives are a great way to try a new fragrance before buying the bigger pillar or matherapy benefits.

Room Diffusers (or Reed Diffuser)

The aroma or room diffusers generally lasts longer than air fresheners and candles and is safer to use as there is no flame. They are low maintenance; simply turn the reeds periodically to release the fragrance into the air for a continued release of scent. The length of time of a diffuser depends on the amount of oil contained in the flacon, but also on the size of your room and its temperature.

Candles

Trim your candle wick every time after burning to approximately 5mm. This will control the flame and avoid sooting.

When burning your candle, always wait until a wax pool has formed around the edges of the jar or tin. Otherwise, the candle will simply burn straight down the middle. This is called ‘tunnelling’ and will severely decrease your candle burn time.

Do place lightly scented candles in small rooms like the bathroom or your dressing room. Reserve heavy scents for the bigger areas in your home.

Safety first! Ensure you keep your candles at least one foot away from anything that could easily catch fire such as curtains, books or magazines...

Room diffuser

More reeds means more scent! If you want to keep it subtle in a small room, use less reeds in your diffuser.

Sometimes your reeds can become saturated or clog up with dust and will appear to stop diffusing the scent completely. To resolve this, simply replace your reeds with a new pack to get the fragrance flowing again!
