Choose your material

Hard suitcases

Polyproplene

Car bumpers are usually made from this material as it can withstand heavy impacts. Made from an oil based plastic, it’s extremely strong with a tough surface.

ABS Plastic (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene)

Made from plastic and a rubber substitute, this very strong material is also used in crash helmets. Tends to be lighter and easier to manoeuvre than any other material used for hard cases.

Polycarbonate

Very lightweight, but strong and generally used in premium hard luggage. It offers great protection for fragile items and tends to be more water resistant. Many of our top of the range hard suitcases have highly secure metal frames with combination locks and keys for extra security.

Soft suitcases

Nylon

This man-made, material is lightweight and extremely strong.

Polyester

Hard-wearing, man-made fabric with a matt or shiny look and an attractive woven appearance.

PVC

Made from vinyl sheeting and used as a waterproofing backer on most fabrics, it is generally used for trims and straps and because it’s flexible, it is easy to store at home. Most of our soft suitcases are expandable which means more room for holiday clothes!

Specifically designed to fit in an aircraft cabin, these suitcases make ideal hand luggage. Most have pockets and compartments that are excellent for keeping passports, flying tickets and other essentials at hand. Cabin luggage is perfect for weekends, city breaks or short trips for light travellers.
