Mayfair, London, 1973. In a small hair salon (with rooms above), where big ideas were bubbling, plants and herbs were blended and bottled by hand, straight into the hands of some of the city’s coolest customers. Molton Brown’s reputation grew and the salon changed into the first Molton Brown store. At around this time Founding Chemist Dale Daxon Bowers joined the team. A globetrotter and free-thinker, Dale returned from far-flung places to her Mayfair lab, with inspiration for characterful blends. Creamy lipsticks in tropical shades, colourful bathing gels with exotic scents, grooming products for the man about town: Molton Brown was evolving into the company we know today.
