THE GROWN-UP GUIDE TO FESTIVAL DRESSING

Festival Dressing

Festival season is almost upon us and we're starting to think about what to pack. Whether you're heading to Isle of Wight or Secret Garden Party, or something in-between, we are true believers that you need a big dose of practical (and stylish) fashion. So we've rounded up the festival wear that'll see you through heat waves and inevitable British weather in style. And in true festival spirit, we've even included a survival guide with all the extras you need to get through the weekend.

Isle of Wight

Unpredictable weather means we need a hint of sensible style for festivals such as Isle of Wight. A firm favourite with the likes of Alexa Chung and Kate Moss, the festival has become known for its low-key cool - think embroidered denim and boho blouses. Keep a military or waterproof jacket close for when the sun goes down and the weather - inevitably - turns. Worried about footwear? Take two options: wellies (in case there’s rain) and studded leather boots that will see you through the mountains of dust (seriously).

Bestival

We love festivals that bring the chance to have some fun with your outfits. This year style up fringing, accessories, maxi dresses and clashing prints - anything goes. We're all about denim shorts, statement sandals and beachy bags. Your straw bag can double up as a statement accessory, or, if you're feeling really daring, why not try a bum bag? They've made something of a comeback this year and can even be worn across the body. An easy way to elevate any look? Metallic touches and pops of colour.

Port Eliot

Festivals don’t always mean dressing up and dancing the night away. There are an array of cultural, literary and arts festivals to enjoy this summer, with options to buy day tickets too. Instead of going all out, sneak subtle trends into your everyday wardrobe. Pair a simple t-shirt and jeans with your favourite boots, then add a fringed jacket. Keep it casual. And when it comes to accessories add suede textures, straw hats and layered jewellery. Thomas Sabo's charm styles are top of our wish lists.

Your survival guide

As well as all the glitter palettes and wardrobe essentials on our list, there are some necessities we just can't survive a festival without. Stay hydrated while basking in the sun with our reusable water bottles - just refill as you go. Other saviours include power banks (because there's nothing worse than your phone dying at midday), hip flasks and bottle openers. And must-have accessories? Hide tired eyes with our signature sunglasses. You won't even need to worry about reapplying your makeup. Looking for a hair hero? Our tropical headbands hide unwashed hair with a chic twist. There you have it, all bases covered.
