THE GROWN-UP GUIDE TO FESTIVAL DRESSING

Festival season is almost upon us and we're starting to think about what to pack. Whether you're heading to Isle of Wight, Secret Garden Party or something in-between, we are true believers that you need a big dose of practical (and stylish) fashion. So we've rounded up the festival wear that'll see you through heat waves and inevitable British weather in style. And in true festival spirit, we've even included a survival guide with all the extras you need to get through the weekend.

Isle of Wight

Unpredictable weather means we need a hint of sensible style for festivals such as Isle of Wight. A firm favourite with the likes of Alexa Chung and Kate Moss, the festival has become known for its low-key cool - think classic denim and boho blouses. Keep a wax or waterproof jacket close for when the sun goes down and the weather - inevitably - turns. Worried about footwear? Opt for chunky Chelsea boots that will see you through the mountains of dust and look equally cool with dresses or jeans.

Bestival

We love festivals that bring the chance to have some fun with your outfits. We're all about classic denim shorts, slogan sweatshirts and handy backpacks. Or, if you're feeling really daring, why not try a bum bag? They've made something of a comeback this year and can even be worn across the body. Footwear-wise, whether you prefer classic green or something a little more eye-popping, you can't do festival season without a pair of trusty wellies.

Festivals don’t always mean dressing up and dancing the night away. There are an array of cultural, literary and art festivals to enjoy this summer, with options to buy day tickets too. The best part? Avoiding those muddy fields means you can step out in a pretty, white summer midi - we love this tropical print iteration from Warehouse. Pair it with a soft leather jacket and classic western boots to toughen up the look. And when it comes to accessories add cool, copper Ray Bans and layered gold jewellery.

Your survival guide

As well as all the glitter palettes and wardrobe essentials on our list, there are some necessities we just can't survive a festival without. Stay hydrated while basking in the sun with our reusable water bottles - just refill as you go. Other saviours include power banks (because there's nothing worse than your phone dying at midday), hip flasks and bottle openers. And must-have accessories? Don't leave without a pair of trusty sliders for those muddy shower dashes. Looking for a hair hero? Our tropical headbands hide unwashed hair with a chic twist. There you have it, all bases covered.
