Monstera adansonii, commonly known as the Monkey Mask Plant, is a compact tropical houseplant that brings bold foliage and modern style into the home without taking up excessive space. It offers the distinctive perforated leaves associated with Swiss Cheese Plants, but with a more controlled and manageable growth habit.

Supplied trained to a moss pole, this plant grows upright, forming an attractive vertical feature rather than sprawling across shelves or floors. Indoors, it typically reaches around one to two metres tall over time, making it suitable for smaller rooms as well as larger open spaces.

This plant grows well alongside other tropical houseplants such as ferns, palms and calatheas, helping to create a layered indoor display with texture and depth. It is also well suited to container growing, remaining tidy and structured when given support.

Care is straightforward. Place in bright, indirect light and avoid strong direct sun. Water when the top layer of compost begins to dry and mist occasionally or position in a naturally humid room such as a kitchen or bathroom. The moss pole should be kept slightly moist to support healthy climbing growth.
