The Bottle: For Le Sel d’Issey, internationally renowned Japanese designer Tokujin Yoshioka has crafted a bottle with a pure and sharp aesthetic, embodying the brightness of light and the energy of salt.

Made with 20% recycled glass, the transparency of the bottle reveals the light gray color of the fragrance within, echoing the salt at the core of the scent. A clear hemisphere is encapsulated at the base, conveying a powerful masculinity.

Inspired by salt, the light gray of the outer pack matches the perfume with the purity of its natural tone. For the first time, the box contains 10% upcycled seaweed of natural origin, alongside material from well-managed FSC™-certified forests and other controlled sources. Its matte texture is reminiscent of the tactile surface of salt crystals.

The Inspiration: This fresh new fragrance, created by perfumer Quentin Bisch, reveals a vigorous salt accord enhanced by intense masculine notes. Made with 95% natural origin ingredients, and 100% natural origin French alcohol, Le Sel d’Issey Eau de Toilette is a vegan-certified perfume.

The perfume encapsulates infinite movement, expressed through two olfactive polarities. Representing the sea, the salt polarity is composed of a vivid salt accord combining natural origin marine seaweed and natural origin oak moss — a type of algae that migrated from the water towards the land. Embodying constant flux, it represents the eternal link between the sea and the land and connects the two polarities of the fragrance together.

The earth polarity is infused with intense woody notes that bring density and texture to the scent. Natural sand vetiver blends with natural upcycled cedarwood, an ingredient distilled from side stream dust in furniture making. Top notes of effervescent natural ginger enhance the freshness of the salt accord.

The interaction between the salty and woody polarities suffuses the fragrance with dynamic energy, for a powerful and fresh intensity.
