The Maltese island of Gozo, situated in the heart of the Mediterranean, is rich in flavours that are at once so simple and subtle and yet so rich. Its coastal coves are like surreal postcards basking in the sunshine and in the evenings, the winds seem to bring scents from both Africa and Europe. Striving to translate the artistic vision of Abdulaziz Al Ajail, a well-respected and trusted social media figure from Qatar who considers the island to be a glimpse of heaven on earth, Gozo has been created by independent perfumer Vanina Muracciole. The fragrance radiates floral facets tinged with subtle hints of spices, starting out with top notes of saffron, tuberose and bergamot. A heart of geranium, violet leaves and cedarwood then gives way to a dry-down of white musk, patchouli and ambroxan that rounds out this sensual Floriental-Spicy extrait de parfum. For the first time, Jeroboam swaps its traditional black and gold bottle for one dressed in orange and gold to evoke bright, joyful memories.
