Each purple bloom in autumn holds vivid red saffron strands, easy to pick, dry and enjoy in cooking or herbal teas.
These bulbs are low maintenance and love a sunny, well-drained position. Ideal for containers on the patio or sunny spots in the border, they’ll flower in autumn, adding welcome colour and fragrance at an unexpected time.
Saffron crocuses are hardy and easy to grow, and they’ll naturalise year after year to increase your harvest. Whether grouped together in a pot or woven through a sunny border, they mix beautifully with other autumn interest plants like nerines, cyclamen and ornamental grasses.
