Coming into flower in March, a little earlier than other Daphnes, this incredible shrub boasts the most incredibly powerful, although not overwhelming scent. The fragrance is sweetly spicy and comes from flowers that are up to four times larger than any other Daphne. Borne in clusters along the entire length of the stems, they begin as purple buds before opening to beautiful pale pink that gradually fades to white. Mature plants can easily have ten flower clusters per stem, and whole stems can be cut for vase displays, bringing the divine fragrance indoors.

‘Perfume Princess’ is the perfect size for growing in containers as well as in borders and if you position it near to doors or beneath windows its scent will drift through your home. Evergreen and hardy, with long, slender leaves, it looks good all year round and will be happy growing in sun are partial shade. It’s slow growing and requires little maintenance apart from the removal of damaged stems, forming a neat, rounded shrub.
