This innovative fence-mounted planter is designed for flower colour, structure and a stronger connection to wildlife without sacrificing space. The Go IllumiNest Planter combines a decorative planting container with a built-in bird nesting box and integrated solar light, all housed in a robust unit made from recycled household materials in the UK.

The nesting chamber sits beneath the compost and foliage of the planter, helping it remain naturally cooler and more inviting for birds. Positioned higher up on a fence panel or post, it offers added protection from predators, making it especially valuable in urban gardens where safe nesting sites are increasingly limited.

It works beautifully with trailing and bedding plants such as lobelia, bacopa, petunias or ivy, lifting colour up to eye level while creating cover above the nesting area and freeing up ground space below. The planter slots securely onto fence panels or posts, helping stabilise panels and deflect rainwater away from posts to reduce weather damage.

A solar light sits neatly on top, capturing more daylight at height and casting a soft glow across the garden in the evening. You can switch between white lighting or mood lighting that automatically transitions through five colours. Care is simple - refresh planting seasonally, clean the nesting chamber when not in use, and enjoy a garden feature that quietly works hard all year.
