Introducing Philadelphus 'Petite Perfume White'. This extraordinary variety shares the same pedigree as its sister plant, 'Petite Perfume Pink', winner of Plant of the Year at the 2025 RHS Chelsea Flower Show, and it delivers the same intense fragrance with dazzling pure-white blooms.
From June to July, hundreds of sweetly scented, starry flowers open along each branch, releasing an unmistakable orange blossom perfume. The floral display can last up to six weeks, filling the garden with scent and attracting bees and butterflies. Compact and bushy, this mock orange reaches around 1.2m high and wide, creating a rounded, tidy shrub that's perfect for smaller gardens, courtyards or containers.
It's not only beautiful but very tough too. Hardy down to -25C and drought tolerant once established, it thrives even in exposed or urban gardens where others might struggle. The dark green foliage provides year-round structure, contrasting perfectly with the crisp white blooms.
Grow 'Petite Perfume White' in full sun or partial shade, in any well-drained garden soil. It partners beautifully with lavender, roses or salvia for a classic, cottage-style combination and looks fabulous near seating areas where you can appreciate its scent up close.
