Named in honour of Queen Victoria after being discovered in Alderton, Sussex in 1844, ‘Victoria’ has been grown and enjoyed by gardeners ever since. ‘Victoria’ is the Nation’s favourite plum, undoubtedly because of its unrivalled flavour and juiciness.

Now anyone can grow these fantastic plums in the smallest of outdoor spaces with this ‘Little Vic’ dwarf tree. Specially grafted onto a super-dwarfing rootstock, this amazing little tree won’t get any taller or wider than 2m in the ground, or roughly 1.2m when kept in a pot or container - a perfect size for growing in a pot on a patio or balcony.

It may be small in stature, but that doesn’t affect the fruits, which are just as big and juicy as the normal variety and you’ll get a heavy crop too, that will increase as the tree gets more established. ‘Victoria’ plums are self-fertile, so you don’t need any other trees nearby for them to fruit, just let the bees do what they do best when the tree is covered in beautiful white spring blossom.

Grow it in a large pot, at least 30cm in diameter in a sunny spot and your plum tree will thrive, with fruit ready to pick in July and August. The gorgeous red skinned, yellow fleshed fruits are sublime eaten fresh straight from the tree and they are delicious in jams and puddings.

Supplied as an established tree, 70 cm tall grown on a St Julien dwarfing rootstock in a 4.5 litre pot, growing to an eventual height and spread of 2m.
