Months of outstanding colour awaits with this excellent collection of Clematis, offering yearly displays of big blooms. Clematis are the choice climbers for many experienced gardeners, and we’ve matched three varieties to offer months of summer flowers.
Each variety grows at a good rate, just be sure to plant them somewhere they can ramble away – such as an unsightly wall or an old tree stump.
Starting with Clematis 'Warszawska Nike', an RHS Award of Garden Merit-holding variety that flowers in midsummer with rich purple blooms, followed by a second flush later in the season.
Another vigorous climber is Clematis ‘Madame Julia Correvon’, which bursts to life with blooms from the middle of summer until the end. Dark red star-shaped flowers emerge across the plant for a dramatic look.
Despite being the ‘late’ bloomer of the lot, you’ll only be waiting until June to see the mid-to-large flowers of Clematis ’Comtesse De Bouchard’, with mauve-pink petals surrounding creamy yellow stamens.
Supplied as a set of three established plants in 9cm pots, including one of each named variety, ready for planting.
