Cosy layers for all the family to enjoy the outdoors in – and create festive moments to remember along the way.
Winter is commonly known as the season for hunkering down in the house, fire blazing and a showing of Christmas films on rotation. However, getting the whole family together, bundled up and out the door for an afternoon in the Great Outdoors is all part of the fun, too. Content Creator Naomi Banjo agrees, embracing the season with her family through one simple ritual – the winter walk.
'Nothing beats a winter walk for us,' she says. 'Crisp blue skies, cold fresh air and just us switching off from the outside world is one of our favourite things to do. We don’t get to spend much quality time together, so when we do, we make sure it’s something we all enjoy — away from the noise and just making special memories to last a lifetime.'

When it comes to winter walks, Naomi dresses her little ones with adventure in mind. Whether for racing on muddy paths or climbing trees, these outfits need to ensure comfort first and foremost.
'A good coat, waterproofs and wellies make all the difference - then it’s just about letting them enjoy being outdoors.'
Winter walks may get a little muddy at times, but it’s still worth putting a little thought into the outfits your family wears. The style memo for a winter walk? Warm, comfortable and subtly coordinated. Naomi says:
'We always try to make a moment of it. Matching checks, cosy textures and classic outerwear make it feel special without ever feeling forced.'
From checked caps to wool scarves and heritage-inspired coats, it’s all about dressing that looks as good in photographs as it feels to wear. These are pieces that become woven into family traditions, worn year after year when the temperature begins to drop.
As Christmas draws closer, winter walks become part of the ritual too – a breather from the busyness of the season.
'We love matching Christmas pyjamas on Christmas morning," Naomi adds. "Then for Christmas dinner, there’s always a little sparkle. And the day usually ends with a quiet winter walk just as the sun is setting. We all wrap up in hats, scarves and gloves - and definitely our wellies.'
Winter walks aren’t just about getting outdoors, they can become part of the magic of festive season, a chance to make memories that will tide us over until we can do it all again next year. And for gifts this year? Naomi knows what will make each member of her family’s Christmas:
‘I love buying for the kids – Mimi's into anything sparkly. Cass loves anything sporty and Tre is completely car obsessed. Jord always gets some aftershave... although I know he’s got his eye on a new coat this year. And for me? If he’s reading this, I’d love a new bag.’
Whether it’s on a country path, around the table or beneath the tree, Naomi’s winter is all about making the little moments feel special, and ensuring her whole family can see out the season in both comfort and style.
